Since its inception in 2002, the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation has been supporting Sutter Lakeside Hospital's ongoing commitment to provide quality medical and wellness care to the residents of Lake County. The Foundation supports making medical and wellness care affordable and accessible through free and low-cost programs, while providing access to fundamental health services to those who need them most.

Each year, the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation team assesses the needs in the Hospital and makes a list of fundraising goals based on those needs. We hope that you might find an area of need that is close to your heart and start giving today.

2009 SLHF Fundraising Goals

In the Hospital:

Wireless Fetal Heart Rate Monitor
The Need: 4 needed at $5,720 each
You can be a part of a successful birthing experience by donating toward the purchase of wireless fetal heart rate monitoring equipment which will enhance the birthing experience, allowing the mother to stay mobile during the critical hours leading up to delivery.

BiliSoft LED Phototherapy System
Then Need: 2 needed at $3,355 each
The BiliSoft LED Phototherapy System is used for the treatment of jaundice (indirect hyperbilirubinemia) in newborns. This state of the art technology will allow parents to hold babies born with jaundice in their arms, preventing the infant from spending his/her first days of life in an incubator.

Enhance Patient Rooms
Our goal is to get patients back on their feet as soon as possible and we believe that this can happen more quickly by enhancing each patient's experience by providing in-room accommodations and supplies for family members including:
Recliners - 12 needed at $1,000 each
Cot Mattresses - 5 needed at $150 each
Living plants to promote health and healing - 12 needed at $75 each

Expand Aerobics Room
The Need: $60,000
The SLH Wellness Center department has reached capacity in the aerobics classes offered throughout the week and we are in need of expanding the room to accommodate more students.

In the Community:

Mobile Health Services Unit
You can help touch lives throughout Lake County by giving funds to support the ongoing medical care provided to seniors, families with children, and migrant families through the Mobile Health Services Unit (MHSU).

Healthy Kids are Contagious
Increase then number of children served by continuing to offer the Healthy Kids are Contagious program. This school-site program educates students on healthy life choices.

Health & Wellness Education Scholarships
Increase the number of scholarships given for health and wellness educational programs and support groups for children and adults.

Healthy Employees
Sutter Lakeside Hospital would like to partner with local businesses to assist in promoting employee health and wellbeing and to decrease illness care costs, sick time, workers' compensation claims while boosting productivity and job satisfactions. The program will include educational classes, handouts and seminars.

Wellness Education & Disease Management Programs
We would like to expand wellness education and disease management programs to all communities around the lake. We are strengthening partnerships with other Lake County agencies that serve at-risk populations, particularly pregnant women and families with children.
