About the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation

The Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation supports Sutter Lakeside Hospital's ongoing commitment to provide high quality medical and wellness care to the residents of Lake County.

We advocate for the hospital year-round, seeking donations from individuals, through fundraising events, soliciting corporate sponsorships and institutional support. With these charitable donations, the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation invests all proceeds to providing much needed equipment to the Hospital as well as supporting health and wellness activities througout Lake County.

Fundraising for Hospital Programs

Individual and Community support not only provides critical funds to urgently needed health programs for Lake County’s most vulnerable community members, it also demonstrates the kind of leadership and public endorsements required for Sutter Lakeside Hospital's programs to be successful and our community to thrive.

Our annual fundraising event is the heart of the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation’s fundraising activities. With the community’s help, Sutter Lakeside’s fundraising events have been very successful, generating valuable funding to enable Sutter Lakeside to help teens, adults, children and seniors county-wide.

2009 Sutter Lakeside Hospital Foundation Goals

Mission in Action

In 2009 the SLH Foundation wishes to do the following:

  • Provide ongoing program support for the Mobile Health Services Unit that will provide high quality medical care primarily to seniors with access issues, as well as families with children and migrant workers.

  • Purchase wireless fetal heart rate monitoring equipment to enhance the birthing experience, allowing the mother to stay mobile during the critical hours leading up to delivery

  • Partner with businesses to assist in promoting employee health and wellbeing and to decrease illness care costs, sick time, and workers’ compensation claims while boosting productivity and job satisfaction

  • Purchase a BiliSoft LED Phototherapy System for treatment of indirect hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice) in newborns

  • Enhance each patient's healing experience by providing in-room accommodations and supplies for family members including: a sofa bed, recliner, cot mattresses and live green plants to promote healing

  • Expand the wellness education programs to all communities around the lake, strengthening partnerships with other Lake County agencies that currently serve at-risk populations, particularly pregnant women and families with children

  • Increase the volume of children served by continuing to offer the Healthy Kids are Contagious programs and by partnering with the schools to provide mandated wellness programming

  • Expand the aerobics room capacity to accommodate more students as they seek ways to engage in a more active and healthy lifestyle

    2008 SLH Foundation Accomplishments
    • Served nearly 6,000 children and families with our “Healthy Kids Are Contagious” programs that provide wellness education to all schools in Lake County and distributed 800 curriculum binders to 6th grade students

    • Raised funds to provide the following life-saving medical devices and specialized training for hospital staff:

      • Grant to provide advanced training and best practice protocols for anticoagulation therapy

      • Blood lead screening machine for pediatric patients

      • Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) device to aid recovery after joint surgery
    • Provided over 75 scholarships to Create Your Health (Wellness University), Lighten Up, and Stress Reduction and Relaxation programs to help at-risk adults take charge of their health
    • Provided 50 scholarships for Lake County children to attend Camp Watta Watta as part of our campaign to empower children to achieve and maintain good health
    • Completed the Mobile Health Services Unit capital campaign, raising over $150,000 from individuals, service groups, health care providers and community leaders to purchase the Unit and meeting a $100,000 matching grant
